Dining at Rudby hall

Breakfast is always included in your booking.  Some say it is the most important meal of the day. When you arrive, we will consult you on what kind of breakfast you would like and do our best to provide your request.  Our full Yorkshire breakfast can optionally contain everything you would expect from a full English. The main difference is that we will ensure that as many ingredients as possible are sourced locally. Our position in the North Yorkshire countryside means we are surrounded by farms, several of which can sell directly to ourselves.

Some examples of local produce we regularly use, are:

Milk comes from Crathorne Dairies, just a couple of miles up the road in the village of Crathorne.

Eggs come from a farm within walking distance of our front gate.

Meat is supplied by Kitson’s butchers, based in Northallerton just 10 miles away.

Lunch – After that hearty breakfast you may not need much for the rest of the day. If you get peckish, we can provide light lunches on request, from soups to sandwiches, charcuterie boards, cheese boards and other delights.

Afternoon Tea – a very special time of day. Perhaps you have come back from walking part of the Cleveland Way, or you’ve been to Mount Grace Priory. You need a cup of tea, or two. Our afternoon tea is full of utterly delicious savoury and sweet treats. Don’t just take our word for it – read the reviews! You will have a choice of Yorkshire Tea or any one of several herbal teas, scones, sandwiches, popcorn chicken and other mini savouries and cupcakes. Watch out for seasonal specials!

Dinner – Do you still need dinner after that afternoon tea? At the moment we will recommend local restaurants from nearby towns and villages. There is a lot of varied cuisine in the locality, for all budgets. You will not go hungry. If you really can’t make it to a local restaurant maybe we can help. You can always ask….
